Story : BioShock has a really underrated story. These first person shooters rarely have a great story, but that is not case with BioShock. The plot goes ahead at a brisk pace, not too fast or too slow. There's a lot of interesting characters and good plot twists and the like. In short, this game has a nice story.
Graphics : The graphics in this game are quite amazing. Like many of the new games out there, nothing is spared when it comes to graphics. All the characters and backgrounds are animated and drawn beautifully. The details in every character's face are stunning. Actually in general, the details in this game are quite amazing. This game is a real treat to look at.
Sound : The music and sound effects in this game are excellent. The music is wonderfully composed and arranged and fits very well. The sound effects likewise are very very atmosphere and ambient and are really nice touches. The voice acting is nice, and nothing is too annoying in that regard. Overall, this is a great game musically.
Game play : This game is loads of fun. It's not too difficult either, it feels just right as you progress. The game is also very fast paced, ensuring that you don't get bored at any point in time. The controls feels really sensitive and responsive, but not overly so. The enemies in this game are quite intelligent on the highest setting and can really make the game interesting after you've learned the ins and outs of it.
As far as hacking, it's basically a mini game within the game. It's interesting at first but there's far too much of it overall. Along with that, the difficulty of this mini game increases to very high levels which will try your patience. Fortunately you can buy your way through these mini games, so those with the patience to acquire a lot of money may find this portion of the game more enjoyable. The highlight of the game for me are the plasmids, which are basically like super powers you can acquire. Very, very fun and really give great depth to the game.
Re playability : This game is quite re playable. If you're into collecting trophies, you get one for each difficulty you've beaten. You can download more content to elongate the game as well. The one major downside is there's no multi player to be had. Disappointing.
2-3 hours out of this bad boy!
Overall : 9/10. Great game if not for the annoying hacking mini-game that's too prevalent.
