Introduction

Developed by Origin8, BioSub is a strategy puzzle game, with physics involved, set in an aquatic environment.

Features

The BioSub game has the following features:

70 challenging levels

Smooth physics game play

Excellent underwater graphics

Intuitive controls

Online high scores

Music library access for iPhones running O.S 3.

Review

The premise of BioSub is such that the player needs to clean up the ocean from chemical spills using the submarine which in game play has a shield that protects it from the nastiness in the ocean. The player controls the sub using the accelerometer, which is rather easy to control - tilting the gadget moves the submarine. There are other optional controls, which may be used; however, the tilting does the job well enough.

Upon starting the game, the player will need to calibrate the controls, after that, it is a pure chemical canister bashing all the way. The difficulty of the game increases as the player progresses to a new and higher level. There are 70 levels available, and a player will need to get awards (which a player can get if he finishes a level within a certain time) in order to progress to other levels further on in the game.

The game is quite challenging and can get very difficult as the player gets to higher levels in the game. All levels come with a time limit, and it can get frustrating when, despite trying really hard, players still find it difficult to beat the set time. There is no option to turn off the time limit within the game.

Overall, the game is well done; it just is not for the impatient or easily frustrated type of person. This game can have people wanting to smash their iPhones due to frustration at being unable to complete the level in time.

Pricing

The game is available on the iTunes store for only $0.99.

Conclusion

The graphics are excellent, as well as the sound. Game controls are average. The game itself is fun but can get rather frustrating especially because of the time constraints for each level. BioSub gets a rating of 3.5 out of 5.
