Birmingham City Manager Interviewee Gary Boden's Controversial Past

It should be noted that one of the people that is being interviewed on December 10^th for the position of Birmingham City Manager has a background that is shaded in a bit of controversy. While Gary Boden's public record showed that he resigned from his position as City Administrator of Clinton, Iowa, there are many on the political scene in that city that say thathe was fired.

According to public record, Gary Boden's contract stated that he would not be granted severance pay if he resigned from his position as City Administrator of Clinton, Iowa. When he resigned, he was granted a severance package. Some of the City Council members in Clinton, Iowa stated that the mayor of that city had forced Gary Boden out of the position, but would not expand upon why.

They did explain that the only reason why he was being given a severance package was because his resignation was not a true resignation at all. If the interview for the position of City Manager goes well for Gary Boden, some people in Birmingham's local government might be best to answer questions that might arise about his former employer.

This leaves Birmingham residents with a lot of potential questions, but no answers. If Gary Boden was forced out of his position in Clinton, Iowa, what did he do to deserve it?
