Birmingham Crime Update

Mark Vansetti
A 19-year old woman from Keego Harbor was shopping in Birmingham when she decided she was going pull a fast one on the employees of a downtown retail shop. Her plan was to pull the tags off some clothing and get away without paying. Employees however, heard the tags being ripped off, saw the tags fall on the floor in the dressing room, and called police. When police arrived the woman came out of the dressing room and admitted what she had done. She was arrested and charged with retail fraud before being released on bond.

A business on the 500 block of Lewis reported that a statute worth $1,000 was stolen sometime in June. Another business on the 700 block of South Adams recently found its glass door smashed. Just $10 in coins was missing from the register.
