Birmingham high schools, Groves and Seaholm, will meet on the football field this Friday. Both teams meet with the identical record of 3-5. The game will mark the 50th time the two teams have played each other. Over the years, Seaholm holds the edge in the series at 37 -- 13. However, over the last 10 years the series is tied at five wins each.

Seaholm has lost its last five games, three of them being at home, but none of that will matter in this game which is always for cross-town bragging rights. Seaholm is coached by Chris Fahr and and Groves is headed by Brendan Flaherty.

The fans at last year's game saw Seaholm beat Groves by three points in the last game of the season.
