The various parks and recreation facilities throughout Birmingham are part of the Oakland County Parks System. This means that Birmingham residents have access to any of the parks within the Birmingham/Oakland County area.
Besides the county parks included in the system, there are also two water parks and a number of nature preserves - one of which allows deer hunting on specific dates as well as other activities. In addition, other parks provide cross-country skiing areas, so you can enjoy the parks during the winter months as well as in the warmer weather.
