Birmingham received visit from 'Eclipse' star

Before the newest movie in the "Twilight" saga opened in Birmingham, fans knew that one of the movie's actors would be visiting the Palladium theater. In anticipation, moviegoers began lining up eight hours before the July 3 pre-movie event was to begin. Apparently, they were not let down. Bronson Pelletier, who plays Jared in the "Eclipse" movie, was the surprise guest.

The secret of which of the movie's stars would appear was so well-kept that even the Palladium's manager was left in the dark. Over 500 people were there when Pelletier was introduced and gave away autographed posters to fans who correctly answered trivia questions about the movie.

The event was sold out hours before the 9 p.m. start. While Pelletier was a pleasant surprise for the 500, many were expecting Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black in the series of films, because he is from Grand Rapids.
