Birmingham Seeking Part-time Museum Director

The City of Birmingham is looking to fill a position with the historical Museum & Park. The museum was established in 2001 and includes both the John West Hunter House, built in 1922, and the Allen House, built in 1928. There is a plaza between the two homes and a park behind it.

The Museum Director will be responsible for handling all of the programs and activities that support the museum. The Director will also be responsible for implementing museum policies and interacting with the community. Volunteers at the museum are recruited and trained by the Director.

The city is looking for someone with a Bachelor's Degree in Art, History, Business, or some area that would be applicable to the position. A minimum of three to five years experience in a similar position is also required. The candidate who is ultimately hired will work about 20-30 hours per week at a pay rate of $18-22.00 depending on qualifications.
