The first weekend of fall brings Common Ground's Birmingham Street Art Fair, in its 36th year, to a new location at South Old Woodward Avenue on the edge of downtown. The event, formerly known at Art In the Park, was at Shain Park for the first 35 years..
With the new site, Art Fair patrons are within walking distance of Birmingham's best downtown restaurants and stores.
More than 160 artists will display baskets, ceramics, digital art, drawings, fiber and fabrics, glass works, jewelry, leather and metal creations, mixed media, paintings, photography, paper creations, sculpture and wood.
Funds will help Common Ground maintain regional programs that serve adults, young people and families in crisis.
Art Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26.
