The Birmingham Zoo is located in Alabama and has 750 or more animals inside representing over 250 species. The zoo is great for adults, childrens,schools and more to experience animals and all there beauty. There are many animal exhibits within the zoo showcasing all of them in a natural setting.

Some of the animals within the Birmingham Zoo are in the African Savannah exhibit. This exhibit is ever so popular with guests. Here you can watch zebras chasing each other around on a imitated grassy plain. And also see elephants which are a great site to see for all animal lovers. In this exhibit you will feel like you are in a real African Savannah.

Also you should check out the hippos where you can view them in a special indoor and outdoor viewing areas of them swimming and playing in a hippo friendly habitat. There are over 300 birds who call the zoo there home, you will also see birds of all kind including a white nape crane which is on the endangered species list.

Another great exhibit to see is the feline or big cat exhibit. This exhibit always draws a crowd and always pleases you with there beauty and agility. And here you can see the white bengal tiger who is a zoo favorite. This is a must see area of the zoo for everyone.

And if you find yourself getting hungry while you are there then you really should stop and try one of there great food options throughout the park. Whether you are just coming to relax or learn more about animals the zoo is the place for you. The Birmingham Zoo is not free admission but it is a reasonable rate to enter and they are open every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
