Seven Ideas for the Perfect Present

Teenage girls are easier to shop for than you might think, but parents in this generation of teenage girls need to look out of the traditional box for birthday gifts. Teenage girls nowadays like electronics, video games, music, band posters, and many of the things that only boys used to like. Keep this in mind when shopping for the teenage girl on your list and you'll pick out the perfect gift.

Video games used to be only for boys, but in recent years, many video game companies started directing their games toward a broader female audience. If you're looking to purchase a video game system for a teenage girl, but don't know which to get, purchase the Nintendo Wii. The Wii platform has many more games for girls than the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. Girls love the Cooking Mama games, Animal Crossing City Folk, Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility, and of course, Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

If the teenager on your list doesn't have a cell phone, then this is a purchase you must make. If she does have a cell phone, consider an upgrade or buying a better model. Teenagers can go through cell phones quicker than adults, so look into models that are durable, yet stylish. Cell phones that have all the bells and whistles are most popular amongst the teens these days, especially if theirs is cooler than all their friends' phones. The iPhone from Apple is probably the number one choice of teenagers however the price is quite expensive. Text messaging is very important to teenage girls and you'll want to pick a phone such as AT&T's Quickfire for its qwerty keypad and touch screen capabilities.

Purchase an iPod for your teen. If she already has one, get an iTunes gift card so she can download more music and videos. Purchase a set of brightly colored ear buds to accessorize her iPod. There are lots of accessories for the iPod and teen girls want them all. You can't go wrong with a gift from this department.

Most any teenage girl loves to shop, so give her a gift card or certificate to her favorite store. This is the ultimate gift because she can buy exactly what she wants in her size and you don't have to waste time guessing sizes or favorite colors. You can also get her a gift card to a restaurant or take her and a friend out to eat to her favorite restaurant.

Teenage girls like music, band posters, and band tees also. Stop by an electronics store and buy some paraphernalia of their favorite band. You can find buttons, messenger bags, bracelets, necklaces, and hats with band logos.

If your teenager loves the Twilight series, check out the store Hot Topic in your area or online for a vast selection of Twilight gifts. From tee-shirts to stickers you can find many gifts your teen will love. They also carry Bella's Birthday Dress from the New Moon book, a perfect gift for the Twilight fan on her birthday.

An easy way to find a unique gift is to learn what your teenager really likes. Find out her current favorite band, collection, or hero and look online for a rare or hard-to-find object in that genre. Teens love having unique and rare items and being the only one amongst their friends who have that one-of-a-kind item.

Don't forget to include a birthday card with your gift. The more humorous the card is, the better she will like it. Don't stress out about shopping for her. If you can't decide what to get her, just take her with you, tell her the limit you want to spend and let her decide what she wants. Giving a gift for a teenage girl doesn't have to be stressful, make it fun and it will be a memorable birthday for her.
