Birthday Gifts Parents Hate for Their Child to Receive

Jendayi
Every year parents have the great task of planning and organizing birthday parties for their children, and each year their children receive gifts from other children. It may come to a surprise that many of these parents secretly resent some of the gifts that their children receive. Below are some gifts that parents might find overwhelming or unnecessary.

Stuffed Animals - Yes while they are cute and affordable, they can become problematic. Stuffed animals multiply quickly. One minute parents have a handful of stuffed animals to deal with and then within a year they have about twenty of them all in different shapes, sizes, and color. This is when storage becomes a problem and discarding them is not an option as children grow a strong attraction to them. In addition to being so bulky they attract a great deal of lint and dust. Stuffed animals can not be washed in a machine and are known to trigger asthma attacks in children. All though stuff animals are cute they are also very troublesome. There are asthma friendly stuffed animals being produced but that still leaves the problem of bulkiness and space.

Sarcastic shirts - Shirts and onesies with sarcastic sayings are becoming popular, and many parents dislike them. Although shirts like these appear funny, you might want to think about purchasing them. Shirts that say things like "I'm the smarter kid" or "If you think I'm cute you should see my mother" can be offensive to some parents as they think the shirts are too grown up for young children. Opt for shirts with friendly animal characters on them.

Loud toys - Toys that make a great deal of noise are not popular with parents, such toys include; whistles, drums, bells, horns, harmonicas, and megaphones. Toys like
these have the potential to drive a parent up the wall. Parents agitated will give toys like these a new home in the storage bin, in the closet. or the trash receptacle. If you want to purchase any musical instrument be sure to ask the parent before doing so.

Toy guns - These are a very poor ideas for gifts. There is a great deal of gun glorification by media which has a negative influence in children. In the year 2009, more than a handful of children have been killed or injured by guns in a consistent manner.

Nail polish/makeup - These products can get very messy and have more of a grown up appeal to them. Many parents want to save products like these for when their children get much older like in their very early teens, and some parents wait even later than that. Every parent is different and might not mind their child having these products. If you want to purchase nail polish and make up for a gift you should be sure to ask the parents first.

Inappropriate toys for age - There is nothing more frustrating for a parent than receiving a toy that is too difficult, too grown or too easy and babyish for the child to enjoy. Make sure your gift falls on the correct age for the birthday child.

Licensed Products (toys) - Some parents raise their children commercial free and prefer for their child not to have that pair of Sponge Bob pajamas, but then again other parents will not mind gifts like these. Other parents are raising their children without the influence of television and others are strict in limiting what shows their children watch. You do not want to offend the parent by purchasing licensed toys or clothing. Your best bet will be to check with the parent before purchasing.
