Of course planning a birthday party for a child is almost quite simple: make a theme, provide decorations in honor of the theme, add games, gifts and fun foods...and it's a wrap! But try that exact plan for an adult; things go a bit different for an adult birthday party.
Of course, one can still plan the birthday party with a theme, but the party favors and decorations may a bit more mature-oriented for an adult as to how they would be for a child; If the theme is a Hawaaiin theme, of course you'd have the tropical decorations for both parties, but the adult party may cause for participants and guests to arrive in lua garb, grass skirts and head gear.
But most parties share the basic party favors: food, drinks, and entertainment. Of course added that with an adult party, your drinks may include an alcoholic beverage, and the meals may be made of more exotic foods and dishes.
Speaking of food and drinks, you don't have to spend a lot of money for either type of party. Especially when it comes to the general party favors. You can have party trays made up consisting of meats and cheese, or even a platter of finger sandwiches. These can be found for under $20 in some local grocers, super markets and catering services.
And most drinks can be stretched if you make a punch, where small serving cups are available to moderate the guests intake of the punch. Let's remember that "waste not, want not..." I don't know who/where that quote originated from, but it fits J The reason I say this is because if your guests see that the chance to fill large cups, they will-with a result of half-filled cups laying around for you to clean up; added result of wasted beverage....WOW!
You can catch a good deal on cans of juices and punches at the grocer sometimes, where you can purchase up to 3 large cans for $5. And even there isn't a sale, an average large can of juice/punch costs $2/3.
Another added specialty at parties are chips and dip. You can prepare a large-serving salsa cheese dip and tortilla chips for less than $20. The chips range from $2-$3, and to prepare the salsa cheese dip, the ingredients average $15....catch a sale and this will all be less than $10!
Among all the party favors you can provide to have a successful birthday celebration, never forget the music! And, above all-Have Fun!
