Birthday Party Ideas for Boys

Birthday parties do not have to be expensive. Be creative, and plan events for your little boy's birthday party that won't cost a lot. Little boys love to be active, so consider that in your party planning. Think about hosting the party at your house or at a local park. Make sandwiches, and make your own cake or cupcakes for dessert. If you think about what kind of theme you want ahead of time, then it is easy to come up with creative ways to host a boy's birthday party. Here are some ideas.

Birthday Party Ideas for Boys: Cowboy Party

For a cowboy party, you can have the boys a make cowboy art project. Have them decorate a cut out horse or cowboy hat. For fun, have the boys bring any cowboy hats and any horse toys they have to the party. If you have ribbons, you can tie the stuffed horses onto the handlebars of the boy's scooters, or tie them to broomstick handles to make horses to ride. Have a cowboy parade, or just let them run around. A cheap party favor that you can buy or make is red bandanas. You can buy a large piece of fabric and cut them out for the boy's birthday party.

Birthday Party Ideas for Boys: Robot Party

I recently took my son to a robot birthday party and it was a lot of fun. Everyone collects stuff at home the week before the boy's party - bottles, small boxes, and miscellaneous containers. You will need glue, scissors, duct tape, lots of foil, regular tape, and whatever else you can think of. Disposable foil baking sheets are good too. Cut out a large piece of cardboard for the front and back of each robot. Cover them with foil and decorate them. Use duct tape to hold the front and back together over the shoulders, and cover the sticky side with another piece of foil or tape. You can also make foil hats. Have the boys get together for a birthday party parade around the yard or park.

Birthday Party Ideas for Boys: Dinosaur Party

Boys love dinosaurs. Go to the local library and check out a few library books featuring dinosaurs to read at the party. Decorate with a jungle theme, make green leaves or use green party ribbon. Have the boys draw dinosaurs on large construction paper or cardboard. If the birthday boys are too small, cut out the shapes ahead of time. Let the boys paint the dinosaurs, or color them. Add glue highlights to the dinosaurs and sprinkle on glitter or confetti. Make cupcakes with green frosting, and add a drop of green food coloring to a pitcher of water or lemonade to serve with lunch.

These are just a few ideas to help you plan a birthday party for your little boy. You can simplify the themes for toddler boys, or make them a little more involved if the boys are older. Have fun planning for your boy's birthday party, and you will enjoy seeing your efforts pay off at the party.
