Birthday Party Ideas for Dogs

Brenda Hoffman
Anyone who is a real dog lover may consider having a birthday party for their dog at some point in time. After all that your dog does for you everyday, it is time to give him something back in return. So, whenever his next birthday comes along, why not throw him a birthday party? Here are some birthday party ideas for dogs that you can enjoy at that time.

A Regular Birthday Party

One of the really simple birthday party ideas for dogs is to simply have a real birthday party for him like you would have for anyone else. You can find a cake mix that has been made especially for dogs at a local pet store. Of course, you should also bake a cake for the humans in attendance as well. Then you can use streamers, balloons and piñatas filled with canine treats for decorations. Any children in attendance will love helping their dogs with their piñata.

A BBQ For Your Puppy

Another one of the great birthday party ideas for dogs is to have a BBQ. Owners will enjoy some great food while the dogs get to have lots of fun. This works especially well if you have a swimming pool in your backyard. If everyone bathes their dog before the party, then the dogs can have a pool party, which can offer a lot of laughs and great photos.

A Mardi Gras Party

If you really want to show your dog that you love him and are looking for some different birthday party ideas for dogs then you may want to consider having a Mardi Gras themed birthday party for him. This can be fun as both dogs and their owners can wear masks. You can then decorate the area with green, gold, and purple colors in order to give it a bold, authentic look.

"Just How Much Is That Doggy In The Window?"

The final birthday party idea for dogs that you may want to consider is turning your home into a "pet shop" with this old song playing in the background. You can use little "for sale" signs for decorations and then have a puppy pageant or a dog show.

Conclusion

Planning your dog's birthday party is much like planning your friend's birthday party. It will take a little forethought to keep things running smoothly but once the day rolls around, everyone will be sure to have a good time.

My niece had parties for her 13 year old Lab. It was fun with all the dogs together and he'd open presents too!
