Birthday Party Ideas for Girls

Eleanthe Anderson
If you are planning a birthday party for a little girl, these ideas should help you get started. Talk to your daughter ahead of time and identify a theme for the party. That way you can think about it and be creative without having to spend a lot of money. Here are a few girl's birthday party themes that are easy to put together and don't cost a lot of money.

Birthday Party ideas for Girls: Pink Party

Little girls love the color pink. You can have a girl's birthday party where everything is pink. Have the girls dress in pink, which should not be a problem. Serve strawberry milk in a pitcher. Have an assortment of cookies, and a container of vanilla frosting. Add a drop of red food coloring to make it pink. Spread a thin layer of frosting across half of each cookie or graham cracker, and sprinkle a few pink sprinkles on top. These look very impressive on the table. You can have a pink tablecloth, napkins, and plates. Sprinkle the pink sprinkles on the tablecloth as well. This will get the girls giggling and sneaking them to eat. One activity that you can do at the girl's birthday party is to paint all of the girl's fingernails and toenails in different shades of pink. You can also have a contest where teams have to wrap each other in a whole roll of pink ribbon. The possibilities for a pink girl's birthday party are endless!

Birthday Party Idea's for Girls: Garden Tea Party

Put a table outdoors in a garden for the party. Pick flowers to decorate the table and place settings, and decorate with lots of ribbons. Have the girls wear dresses to the birthday party, or have them dress up at your house. You can put out a pile of scarves, costume jewelry, and hats for them. Hair clips are a great tool. Wrap the scarves around the girl's shoulders, and use a hair clip to keep it pulled tight. Let the girls wear a little bit of makeup or put some sparkle powder so they feel grown up. I would limit it to a swipe of shimmery eye shadow and blush, since little girls can get very carried away with makeup. Escort the little girls out to the birthday party. Pull out their chairs, and give them napkins. Instead of having all of the food out, serve it to them like they are really at tea. You can serve triangle sandwiches, and spoonfuls of fruit, candies, and other fun things. Serve a sweet cooled tea, milk, or lemonade in tea cups.

Birthday Party Ideas for Girls: Princess Party

A princess birthday party can be fun, since all little girls have princess stuff these days. Just in case, you can have parents bring extra princess dresses or costumes if they have them. Have the girls dress up in their princess outfits. You can have some other moms help out with doing the girl's hair, painting glittery nails, or doing some face painting or makeup. Have some activities planned that won't destroy the princess outfits! You might have a princess parade, a princess fashion show, a cupcake decorating contest, etc. The girls can also decorate princess drawings, or make little autograph books and get each other's autographs.

These are just a few birthday party ideas for little girls. Girls can be very creative, so talk to them about these and other ideas in advance so they can plan their birthday party with you.
