Minnesota Children's Museum
For around $160-$185 you and 20 of your friends can enjoy a birthday party at the Minnesota Children's Museum. It includes, Party invitations, a personalized cake, one hour of a reserved table in their party space. For $265-$315 you can get the super party which includes 1 ½ hours in the private party room and a museum host leading themed activities. The cheaper prices are for members.
Three Rivers Park District or your local park
The Three Rivers Park district in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul has some of the most amazing playground setups around. My personal favorite is Hyland Park Reserve in Bloomington, MN with its 10-50 foot slides. Play area that is probably the size of 10 McDonald's play lands combined. You can reserve a shelter in the picnic area or just find a few picnic tables and setup the party. They also have an indoor eating area with nice bathrooms. After the party, there are bike paths that run throughout the park. Down the hill from the main shelter and park area is the lake where you can rent a paddleboat.
Have your birthday party at the YMCA
This is a great option if you are a member of a YMCA. They offer room rentals for around $50 for the first hour, $25/hr after. Check your local YMCA for details. You can use guest passes to get kids into the gym or pool or pay $5 per visitor. You do need 1 adult per 5 children.
Hotel Rental
Rent a hotel with a pool or go to one of the indoor water parks in the Twin Cities area. We have done this in the past where you rent a hotel room that is next to the pool. You can usually have extra people in the pool area for a small fee depending on the hotel.
Bowling
Birthday Bowling can be a fun birthday party, but if you choose the one of the Brunswick locations they have much more than just bowling. They have a game area and the one in Lakeville, MN has a party room.
Good luck and hope you're birthday party turns out fun and happy.
