Birthday Party Venues in Willits, California

So your child's birthday is coming up, and you want to make it special. Where in Willits can you go? Unlike a big city, Willits has a limited number of venues to choose from. I'm going to concentrate on five locations.

First is Recreation Grove at the corner of E. Commercial and S. Lenore, right across the street from the Willits Library. A large, well groomed lawn under tall trees, this park is comfortable even in the hottest weather. Several BBQ stands are available for hot dogs or hamburgers, and the playground is well maintained. You may want to reserve the space for a large group, which gets you the covered picnic tables and a key to the restroom (which is usually open, but not always). At least two of the pizza parlors in town take reservations for parties. Old Mission Pizza, at 1708 S. Main St. in the Evergreen Village shopping center, has a room that seats about 50. Make your reservation at the counter, or call (707) 459-6811, there is no special charge. You can order food from the menu and can also bring in your own soda or cake and ice cream. The Birthday Person gets a free small pizza. Their salad bar looks good, their game room has four or five video games, and the pizza is good. Large Pizzas run from $19.85 for a 16" cheese pizza to a California Combination at $24.10. They are open from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. On Friday and Saturday evenings they stay open until 10:00. They are closed on Mondays.

House of Pizza, just up the street at 1611D S. Main (next to Napa Auto Parts) is open Monday through Saturday from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. On Sundays they are only open for private parties. On any day of the week you can reserve any number of tables that you like. You get a free 2 liter soda bottle with a purchase of every 2 Family Size or 3 Double Size pizzas. The prices ranch from $14 for a cheese Family Sized Pizza to $22.25 for several of their combo and specialty pizzas. They make the salads behind the counter and also offer submarine sandwiches, fried chicken and a list of extras. Call (707) 459-2017 to make arrangements. They have at least 6 video games in the game room and the set up is intimate but with room for a large crowd.

MacDonald's Restaurant at 1488 S. Main St. has a private room glassed off from the rest of the dinning area and an elaborate play ground for small ones. The usual MacDonald's fair is available, though you want to call ahead for large orders or to reserve the room. The phone number is (707) 459-2120.

For a change of pace, however, call The Birthday Place. Located at 239 S. Main, almost across the street from JD Redhouse, this business opened in November of 2008. Featuring three large rooms that can be decorated to match the style and theme you want, this is a great place for a memorable party. They offer event packages from $160 for 6 children for a 2 hour party up to $240 for 16 children with an additional $12.95 per child on any package. That does not include cake, ice cream or drinks; though they can arrange those with any of several local caterers. The theme and decorations can be set for any age.
