Bishop Eddie Long Divorce Details Listed Online

If you type "Eddie Long" into Google's Adwords keyword research tool, Google reports that approximately 246,000 searches per month come into the search engine for news about Bishop Eddie Long -- with people typing in a plethora of terms to get updates on the New Birth scandal, Long's case settlement, as well as his impending divorce.

Thanks to the website titled "Online Judicial System of DeKalb County, Georgia," we will now be able to follow those divorce proceedings online.

According to the website, plaintiff Vanessa G. Long -- who has been married to the Georgia pastor for 21 years -- has retained three attorneys.

The Long vs. Long suit for divorce case #11CV12748 is currently listed as open, and will no doubt rival that popular movie "Kramer vs. Kramer" if these dissolution of marriage proceedings are made just as public as the film was to the public at large.

With an original filing date of December 1, 2011, the divorce is being presided over by Superior Domestic Relations Judge Tangela M. Barries.

The attorneys for Vanessa Long are listed as:

#1: The Harvard Law School-educated Adrienne Hunter-Strothers of Warner, Mayoue, Bates & McGough, who specializes in family law and domestic relations.

#2: John P. Jett is listed as an associate with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, a man who specializes in class action lawsuits, as well as "complex business litigation," which I'd say is in order in this Eddie Long divorce.

#3: The third attorney listed is Michael W. Tyler, whose law firm name was not readily searchable.

As far as defendant Bishop Eddie L. Long, only one attorney is listed as of this writing: William Bradley Hill, Jr. of Ashe, Rafuse & Hill LLP.

"Hill" as he prefers to be called, interestingly doesn't have the words "divorce" nor "marriage" nor "marital" nor "dissolution" listed anywhere on his bio.

It states that Hill "concentrates his practice on commercial and complex litigation, with a particular emphasis on products liability, Lanham Act, and employment defense."

Thus far, on December 1, 2011, a standing order is listed:

THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE STANDING ORDER GOVERNING ALL DOMESTIC CASES WITH NOTICE OF CHILD SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS EXHIBIT A (LDA)

On the same day, a petition for divorce is listed, along with check #10525 payment for $207.50 -- small potatoes to the payments that are coming, no doubt -- as well as a verification of Vanessa Long and a Rule 5.2 certificate.

Over a week later, on December 9, 2011, Vanessa's attorney Jett filed a "notice of appearance" and "certification of service" on behalf of the pastor's wife.

And most recently, on December 12, 2011, an acknowledgment of service docket filing, as well as a certificate of service was filed on behalf of Bishop Eddie Long.

Indeed, Tangela M. Barrie is listed as a Division 10 Superior Court Judge (Judicial Tower) in the DeKalb County Courthouse on the DeKalb County District Attorney website, and some of her previous arraignment schedules can be found online.

As more details of these divorce proceedings spill out online and into the general public, this case will no doubt have the nation captivated.
