Bissell 76T8 Versus Bare-Floor Vacuum Cleaner Review

Jamie Cortez
Not every house has wall-to-wall carpeting. Some houses have mostly bare floors with very little carpeting and some don't have any carpets at all. For these kind of homes the Bissell 76T8 Versus vacuum cleaner would be sufficient for daily cleaning.

Pros

Out of the box this unit is really easy to assembly without having to read the manual. In less than five minutes you can put all the pieces together and ready to go.

This machine only weighs 10 pounds and once you got used to its swiveling body it is quite easy to maneuver. The V-Shape technology actually works and it makes moving around furniture a lot easier. Some people complained that the V-Shape makes it harder for them to clean along baseboards but that is not true. You can still clean the area along the wall's baseboards easily.

On bare floors the suction power is good enough to catch all the pet hair, bug, crumbs, sand, dust and dirt. The lack of a roller under this bagless vacuum is a plus because you don't need to worry about hair or yarn stuck and wrapped around it.

Since this unit is a bagless type and you will need to empty the dirt cup after each use. Don't worry though, emptying and cleaning the dirt cup is really easy.

Cons

The 12-amps motor does not give enough suction power to catch pet hair stuck in low-pile carpets. You could try passing on the spot where the hair is stuck multiple times but don't be surprised if the hair won't budge.

It does not go low enough to clean under the bed. If you lean it too much the V-shaped head get off the ground and won't suck in the dirt.

Lastly, the power cord is less than 20-foot long so prepare yourself to keep switching power outlets when you're cleaning a large area. And it's not just the cord the hose is short too. It's less than 7 foot long so when you're cleaning the stairways you will need to carry the vacuum with you.

Conclusion

The Bissell 76T8 Versus bare-floor vacuum cleaner is a fine bagless vacuum. As the name implies it works best on bare floors such as hardwood, laminate, ceramic or tile. It can still clean low-pile carpets but it can never match the cleaning performance of those vacuum cleaners made specifically to clean carpets.
