With Marquette Michigan's recent rash of unseasonable weather I was inclined to request of my wife to purchase the fixings for a dish or two that could be prepared on the grill outdoors before the throes of winter and its icy grip set-in and bury our grill to the point of an ancient archaeological dig-site.
I have no qualms in saying, that the evil "Death Star Retail Planet", commonly known as Walmart, sends me sideways when poised with the possibility of having to go there and or endorse anything about them, however considering that their "Always Falling Prices" is like cocaine to a crack-head our household really has no other choice.
My wife came home with a package of what I am guessing, is indeed, a Walmart product, however packaged as a "specialty" brand as to catch the unsuspecting consumer off guard as to line the pockets of the evil death star retailing planet, otherwise known as Walmart even further, and or to appeal in what I am guessing is their hopes of catering to a "higher-end" or "discriminating" consumer that Walmart has been leaning towards and attempting to attract in the last two to three years.
What she purchased was a package of four, Spinach with Mozzarella, fully cooked chicken sausage's, by "Bistro Sensations". That is right, "chicken sausage." First off, I typically like my chicken in a semi-state of what it once represented when alive and was skeptical at first, regardless of the eye-catching and tasty title and description that actually had my taste buds salivating.
I like to consider myself a manly-kind-a-man and love my wheat, hops and barely along with a manly-meat-by-products but, I do not care for Brats; this is one elongated meat product I avoid at all cost. My wife and son do not possess the appetite nor the stomach for alternatives like spicy Italian sausage off the grill as I do, so this fresh alternative was certainly a welcomed new choice.
The package recommends that they be grilled, baked, or saute' and just as the Michigan weather would have it and the adage of such, that if you allow the Michigan weather five minutes it will change and with that said, it did, I was rained out.
As to be energy efficient I was not compelled to baking them either, for I was prone to the concept of the quick and searing hot, saute' persuasion culminated with my brief culinary experiences I obtained while working my way through college about 43 BC. I found a bottle of dry red wine that was gifted to us about a year ago and decided to finally employ this said bottle of red wine and go all Wolfgang Puck out on these respectfully sized chicken sausages.
The results were absolutely startling, the taste was incredible and longed for more. These newfangled Bistro Sensations, Spinach with Mozzarella chicken sausages were truly a palette tour de force and would highly recommenced them as a tasty side-dish or atop of your favorite pasta. They were very juicy and I was "dressed-out", if you will, more than once when my fork pierced and plundered into their skin, where the juice squirted out at me. You could taste the chicken almost prominently with the vestige of taste that of the mozzarella cheese and a hint of taste of the spinach that takes an honorable mention.
But are they good for you, you may ask; well, that is be left for you to decide if and when you seek-out these at your local Walmart by reading the nutri-facts. I do know that unfortunately the ingredients label is not understandable after; chicken, pasteurized processed Mozzarella cheese, milk, water, cream and Spinach is listed and requires thereafter, a degree in, most likely chemistry, as so many products do these days.

Post a CommentI just finished eating #$%$ Smoked Mozzarella & Artichoke and Garlic. It was very, very good. At only 5 grams of fat per link, I felt it was OK to make a sandwich out of 2 links. Yummy! Good to find a quality product.
Wal Mart stopped carrying the Bistro Sensations. They were absolutely delicious. We used to have them every Sunday lunch. You are wrong tho, in your thought that it's a craftily packaged Wal Mart brand. They are made by Benetino's Gourmet Foods out of Irivine, CA.
Thanks for saying so. I really hated to rant as I did about Walmart but it is just my opinion of the place, I'm trying to stay objective when writing, but I like to add my ranting flair to it if you will...
