Bitter Eulogy

Jillian McCoy
He never had a dollar

or a nickel more than you

but you hated him just the same

for what you couldn't do

He was your only brother

He was your only friend

But you just held your grudges

Till he met his end.

Now he's gone and you lament

as though your heart is broken

and all the words you loved to say

You'd wish you'd never spoken.

People won't forgive your words

they don't believe your lies

tuck away your performance

Just go dry your eyes.

Stunning! I've known people like this who wait until it is too late to try and make amends and rue the grudges they've held.
