Black Cats Feared, Loved, or Sometimes Shot

Jenny Heart
Fear is what holds people to the ground and doesn't want to let them up. Some people feel bound with fear when they think of a black cat.

For as long as I can remember black cats have been known to scare the tar out of people for one reason or another. Is there reasons to fear them crossing our path, or are they a blessing in disguise?

Cat owners are supposed to become lucky if they own a black cat. This has been told to us for years. Some black cat haters even kill them thinking they are bad luck. Read the link below and find out why farmers would shoot a black cat.

Cat haters think of black cats the way the story of the vampire goes. Vampires would have to have a stake ran through their heart in order to stop them. It seems black cats are thought about in an evil way just as well.

In many cultures black cats are not thought of as good luck. They are sacred. Read also in the link below about how black cats brought fisherman good luck Black cats are mysterious and adventurous.

Why people should feel they are blessed.

If a black cat crosses your path, think of this as an opportunity to pray. People who think they are bad luck can think of this opportunity as time of prayer about the worries in their life. Prayer is powerful! Black cats may have been sent for us to ponder upon our fears and cast doubt out where it belongs; into the trash.

Think of black cats as your very own tamed panther. This way you'll feel you own something that is unique and priceless. Fear is only fear, and black cats are only cats with a bright shiny black coat. Think twice before thinking bad about these coal black creatures. You may one day come across a black cat like my husband did alone and stranded on a roof top.

Yes, my husband looked up while doing yard work outside and behold he saw a black cat stranded on our neighbour's roof. Yes, he can't stand to see a kitten stranded and hungry. He scooped him up, brought him into the house, gave him a bath and fed him. Now he is a member of our family. His name is Sassafras. He's our big sleek, beautiful black cat that from a kitten was loved.

Next time you see a black cat say, "Awe isn't that adorable". Maybe good luck will come to you that day. People who fear black cats bring themselves bad luck; not from the black cat themselves.

I don't understand the superstition behind black cats. Kids around here hang them or shoot them on Halloween- I find dead ones in the canal all the time with bullet holes or hay twine strangling them. It's barbaric

Great article, Jenny. Black cats are the hardest to get adopted in shelters.

great work...yes, as God created the lion, the lamb, the birds, and humans, God created the black cat...they should be treated with respect
