Pros
The biggest advantage of this Black & Decker 3-cup rice cooker is the size. It's just about the right size for a single person or a small family (2 or 3 people). It's a more sound choice than buying an 8-cup rice cooker since you're not really going to cook that many anyway. Its small size means it will fit even a small pantry or kitchen in your apartment or home. It also means you can easily take it with you when you're traveling or when you're having a picnic.
When it comes to cooking perfect rice this little machine is really something you can count on. Some say that brown rice is the hardest to cook well in a rice cooker but this little baby does it well every single time. In short whatever kind of rice you want to cook this 3-cup rice cooker can do it well for you. And when you're done cooking you can clean it easily in the sink.
Cons
The "automatic" tag is kind of misleading. My idea of an automatic rice cooker is that you just need to put rice plus water in it, turn it on and leave it alone to cook. However if you use this rice cooker you still need to stir the rice occasionally. Rice usually cooks in about half an hour and you have to stir it three times every ten minutes or else the rice at the bottom will go brown. My old 8-cup rice cooker didn't need any stirring at all.
Conclusion
Even though it's not really a fully-automatic rice cooker the Black & Decker R3303 is still a nice little rice cooker to have. If you never cook rice before buying this little machine will give you a nice introduction to the world of rice cooking. Since it's really affordable you really don't have anything to lose. Just buy one today and start cooking your favorite kind of rice.
