Black Eyed Peas

The group was formed by Will-i-am and Apl de ap, bestfriends from Los Angeles. Will-i-am is the hip hop name of William James Adams Jr. the composer and lead member of the group, while Apl or Allan Pineda, a Filipino adopted by an American citizen was the one who composed the rap lyrics of Balita, a popular Filipino song by the group Asin. The two shared ups and downs of life during there younger years, specially Apl who experienced racial discrimination, but they were able to survive by being involved to music, and after years of playing to different clubs in L.A. they were notice by a record company, Ruthless Record and have them signed up. Will-i-am name said of the name the Black Eyed Peas that he got inspiration by the Red Hot Chili Peppers name; Will said that the name is like "food for the soul'. Like any other group their are changes in group members, until Taboo the Mexican guy joined the group in 1996 and Fergie the only female member in 2003.

B.E.P's (the short name for them) claim to fame album was Elephunk, where their major hit song "Where is the Love" is included. The song topped in Uk, Australia, Philippines and even in the U.S, a big big hit in 2003. Also included in the album are Shut up and Hey mama, all those singles went a topper on the chart , it went to a worldwide success and the album sales reaches platinum in the market. After Elephunk they released there next album, Monkey Business where Don't Phunk With my heart were included, and again became a hit all over the U.S and gave them a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Group. Don't lie, My Humps and Pump it were also in that album, and did a wold tour and in the tour Philippines were included, so Apl received a warm welcome by the Filipinos who are very proud of him.

Right now some members did there solo album, Fergie did her The Dutchess solo album, and Will-i-am busy doing collaborations with different artists and with his own solo album. Apl and Taboo is planning also their own solo album. They have there own dreams to fulfill and their own paths to go but wherever they go they will always carry the Black Eyed Peas flag on their hand.
