Black Eyed Peas the E.N.D. Early Album Review

Was the E.N.D. Worth the Wait?

The Black Eyed Peas are one of the most commercially successful groups in the history of urban music. Comprised of Will.I.Am, Apl.De.Ap, Taboo and Fergie, the group has sold over 27 million records. The group has also spawned successful solo projects from Will.I.Am and Fergie. Now the group is back together with their first album since 2005's Monkey Business. Will the group be successful on their new album The Energy Never Dies also known as The E.N.D.?

The first single off of The E.N.D. is Boom Boom Pow. The song has been a commercial success and a club banger. The track proves that even though they have been on a break, the Black Eyed Peas still have it.

The second single is I Gotta Feelin' the song samples David Guetta's Love Is Gone. The song is not like any other song that is out now. The track is just very unique in many different ways.

One of the catchier tracks on the album is I'mma Be. The song has a more urban vibe than most of the rest of the album. The song works on so many levels. The production is strong and the verses are equally strong.

Alive is another very strong track. The song has a different vibe than most of the album. The track features a similar drum pattern to Estelle's American Boy.

Meet Me Halfway is one of the mellower tracks on the album. The song like most of the album will definitely leave your toes tapping. The song works well and has a retro feel straight from the 1980's.

Party All The Time is another technology heavy track. The song just features so many different elements attacking the listener all at once then it breaks down into a more melodic affair.

Ring a Ling is another heavily electronic inspired track. The track is fairly catchy even with all the different elements all happening at once.

Missing You is not one of the standout tracks but it is still above average.

Rock That Body is another technological track. The song sounds in line with a more danceable 808's and Heartbreak.

Now Generation has more of a rock vibe than you would expect from the group. The song is just average however.

Electric City is exactly what you would expect; a very electric sounding track with a tinge of reggae especially in Fergie's verse.

The E.N.D. might be too futuristic and different for listeners of today. In five years, much of music will have this same style but today it might be ahead of its time. Overall The E.N.D. gets 8 out 10 for an incredibly polished and creative album. If you are a fan of the Black Eyed Peas make sure you pick up The E.N.D. when it is available in stores on July 9th.
