Just call me Black Friday Ninja Warrior Princess. I'm no athlete but I am proud to admit that Black Friday shopping is the only competitive sport in which I participate. When it comes to getting the goods I'm an expert.

St. Charles County in Missouri is home to most of the popular Black Friday stores and planning a route that covers for the best Black Friday shopping coverage is easy. Key to good planning is a copy of the Thanksgiving Day edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which will contain all of the ads featuring Black Friday specials.

The most important aspect of Black Friday success is detailed planning. Once you have determined which stores are a priority it is time to devise your Black Friday action plan.

If you are a shopper needing to be early at several stores the area around Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Charles County will be a good starting point. Clustered around I-70 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive are Circuit City, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Big Lots, Bed Bath and Beyond and Mid Rivers Mall itself which houses Sears, JCPenney, Dillards and Macy's. These are some of the hottest stores for Black Friday sales and their close proximity will allow you to possibly get the best deals at more than one store.

A few miles down Mid Rivers Mall Drive at the Hwy 94 intersection in St. Charles County is another popular Black Friday store, Target. Radio Shack is located on the same parking lot and Home Depot is directly across the street.

Just a few miles up Hwy 94 at the Jungerman intersection are two more top Black Friday stores; Kohls and Walmart.

The abundance of popular Black Friday stores and the ability to quickly move from one store to another is a benefit to shopping in the St. Peters area of St. Charles County but several other areas of St. Charles County also offer great access to Black Friday deals. Wentzville has a Kohls and Walmart located very near to each other. Recently the area around Lake St. Louis has also become good Black Friday hunting grounds with Walmart, Target and JCPenney located within a few miles of each other. Don't forget that O'Fallon has a great line-up along Hwy K when making your selection of a Black Friday starting point.

One store that has a little different variety is Bass Pro. Located at the Fifth Street Exit off of Hwy 70 in St. Charles, this store specializes in everything for the outdoor sports enthusiast. They will have items on sale that you won't find at any other store. Bass Pro is not near other popular Black Friday locations so a stop there may delay you getting an item you really want at another store. Only a careful review of the Black Friday ad will help you know if it is worth a stop for you.

After you've finished the early morning madness of Black Friday don't forget to check out deals at some of the smaller, locally owned shops around St. Charles County. In them you will find unique gifts and many of them have Black Friday specials as well.

One special stop is the Friends of the Library gift shop located inside the Spenser Library Branch. The gift shop features many special gifts and educational toys, including Thomas the Train items and Beanie Babies. They usually have a great sale on Black Friday and you can save extra by becoming a Friend of the Library.

The biggest key to Black Friday success is planning. I hope this overview of the best clusters of main Black Friday sales players in St. Charles County will help you map your plan.
