Black Friday Best Sales Deals on Gaming Consoles, Game Systems

The Best Deals in Gaming Seem to Be Where the Systems Are Bundled with Games

Saul Relative

The most common items on Christmas lists being filled on Black Friday are electronic, so it would stand to reason retailers would offer up some of their best deals on gaming consoles and systems. Gaming has become as American a pastime as playing baseball and football (and with some interactive systems, nearly as physically demanding) and it sometimes seems like every household has at least one type of game system (or is in the process of acquiring one). Regardless, whether you're at WalMart for a new game system or at GameStop shopping for your (or your kids') first gaming console, there are several Black Friday sales that might be of interest.

So, in the hope of helping the consumer get the best deal on Black Friday 2011, websites like Gizmodo and Lifehacker have compiled lists that cut through all the searching. MSNBC's "Technolog" went even further and culled the best deals for the best of the best. Even so, since purchasing electronic items like game consoles and systems is a subjective enterprise, the more selective shopper will want to do more extensive homework on their Black Friday sales items. For those shoppers, lists like the Gizmodo "Black Friday Cheat Sheet" -- which contains bargains on televisions, laptops, iPads and tablets, peripherals, and more -- can work as a starting point.

Some of the best deals being offered on Black Friday for game consoles and systems are:

WalMart: Nintendo Wii console (Limited Edition Blue) for $100 (Normally $150)

WalMart: Xbox 360 4G console (with Kinect and "Kinect Adventures") for $200 (Normally $300)

WalMart: Xbox Kinect (with "Kinect Adventures") for $100 (Normally $175)

Best Buy: PlayStation 3 160GB Console Bundle With Little Big Planet 2 and Rachet & Clank 4 for $200 (Normally $370)

GameStop: Xbox 360 4GB System with wireless controller for $150 (Normally $249)

ElectronicsExpo: 4GB Xbox 360 With Halo CE for $198 (Normally $250)

Target: Nintendo 3DS console with "Super Mario 3D Land" for $180 (Normally $209)

Remember: For a more productive shopping experience, double-check Black Friday sales prices and item availability (especially electronics, as they are perennial shopping favorites and tend to sell out quickly) with respective retailers. Although some stores have a price match guarantee, such as WalMart, they generally do not honor Internet ads and sales prices that are the result of typos and/or misprints.
