There Are a Few Great Deals to Be Had, but GameStop Seems to Top Them All

Christmas season has arrived and with it Black Friday. Retailers know that consumers are looking to stock up on video games for stocking stuffers and have offered a variety of popular games to entice the prospective buyer. As shoppers get their lists of deals together, they're researching where the best deals can be found. Some strategize their itinerary, moving from WalMart to Best Buy to GameStop and so on. Helping them out are websites like Gizmodo, which has compiled an electronics "Black Friday Cheat Sheet," which displays an extensive of lists of Black Friday bargains for the gamer or the game shopper.

For the price comparison aficionado, there are the usual websites, like PriceWatch.com, FindersCheapers, FatWallet, PriceGrabbers.com, and others. But Gizmodo has already done the searching and posted the best deals. So has Lifehacker. And over at MSNBC "Technolog," they've condensed the list of electronics (including video games and game systems) down to the best of the best.

And this year, it appears that video game specialty retailer GameStop nearly has a monopoly on the video games bargain list.

Some of the best deals on video games to be found on Black Friday (with a nod to GameStop's dominance in the video game category) are:

GameStop: Gears of War 3 (Xbox 360) for $40 (Normally $59)

GameStop: Forza Motorsport 4 (Xbox 360) for $40 (Normally $59)

GameStop: Rage (Xbox 360) for $30 (Normally $59)

GameStop: Need For Speed - The Run (PS3) for $30 (Normally $49)

GameStop: Battlefield 3 (PC, PS3 or Xbox 360) for $40 (Normally $59)

GameStop: Rocksmith (PS3 or Xbox 360) for $50 (Normally $79)

GameStop: LEGO Harry Potter (Nintendo 3DS) for $10 (Normally $19)

GameStop: FIFA Soccer 12 (Xbox 360/PS3) for $40 (Normally $59)

GameStop: Madden NFL 12 (Xbox 360/PS3) for $40 (Normally $59)

Other retailers, like WalMart and Best Buy, are offering video games in bundled deals with video game consoles and gaming systems.

Remember: For a more productive Black Friday shopping experience, double-check all sales prices and item availability (especially electronics items like video games, as they are perennial shopping favorites and tend to sell out quickly) with the respective retailers. Some stores -- like WalMart -- have a price match guarantee. However, retailers vary in policies and generally do not honor Internet ads and sales prices that are the result of typos and/or misprints.
