First and foremost, please take caution. Most of the sales take places starting early hours of the morning; anytime from 4 am till 6 or 7 am are the usually start times. There will most often be many people who will be heading out to their favorite first shopping spots anywhere from 2 am till around 4 am.
Secondly, some people, unfortunately, are vicious on these sales days. They will pull an item right out of your hands, the last items for sale of that doll or GPS that is being offered at a 'to die for' deal. Do not get into an altercation with these people. Turn them into security and let them deal with it. More in likely the end result will be that neither one of you will end up with the item but at least the person who 'took' it from you, won't be allowed to buy it there either.
Lastly, make sure you plan ahead. Get store hours that the sales will be in effect and what items in particular you are watching or looking for. Know how far it is from one store to the other, if you plan on going to multiple places, and plan your time accordingly so you may get to as many of the stores you want to visit. Plan on traffic congestion is some areas, traffic build up at lights and filled up parking lots. You may have to plan even down to your walking time if you have to park at the furthest part of the parking lot if the store is massively busy for their sale. Plan on having fun but please, be careful. Now on to my favorite places to find the deals that can't be beat!
I have a favorite website that carries all the new ads, fresh each week, sometimes each day as they come along. They carry the newest deals and in the time frame that each store will allow them to be released. They carry a list of the items and at what price they will be selling at and even have a mailing list you can sign up for to get the freshest deals as they are sent to them. This website is http://bfads.net, Black Friday 2008. They also carry articles on their site allowing consumers to know why a certain stores ads might or might not have been listed yet and an excellent contact system. Sure they get backed up like any other website does who receives thousands of emails a day but they do their best to try to contact everyone who reaches out to them with questions and concerns about ads, stores and more.
They list sales from every type of stores, from Ace Hardware, to Circuit City, to Lowes, to Tommy Hilfiger and even Walgreens. There are many, many more stores listed on their site, it is most definitely, a must see, must visit site for the holiday shopping season.
Now if you do a web search on Google or any of your favorite search engines, you will find many other sites that list Black Friday Ads, although I have yet to see any that will list as many, fresh, up to date lists and the customer service that bfads.net does. Some of those other websites for your comparing value are listed as follows:
Take care, get your shopping lists ready and most of all, have fun! This is, for me, one of the best holiday seasons of the year, meshing Thanksgiving and Christmas into one big holiday season. Sure it makes the holiday season longer for some, but so many people seem so much happier, more cheerful, just nicer, during this holiday season. For whatever reasons they might be, I won't argue with it, I will take it with and open and willing heart and enjoy everything this season has to offer, including big deal days like Black Friday. Now let's go Shopping!
