Black Friday Sales

Black Friday 2010 is on November 26th, but you should already mark your calendar for October 30th, if you are serious about getting the best Black Friday 2010 deals. Retailers offer in, many cases, better deals weeks before Black Friday than on the actual Black Friday day.

Sears and Kmart kicked off "Black Friday" sales on Saturday Oct. 29th 2009. On November 2nd Walmart already rolled back prices on 100 toys and on the 4th, Walmart announced their first round of hot "Black Friday" deals for the weekend of November 7th including a $298 Laptop and the Xbox 360 Arcade Console $199 with $100 Walmart Gift Card.

Amazon has taken over the Thanksgiving week and made it a Black Friday Sales Week and Walmart built up the excitement for their in-store only Black Friday deals. Amazon moved against the Walmart offers and matched them saving you from having to go hassle with crazy crowds. Best Buy got into the Black Friday Sales game around the same time pushing down the bargain laptop price to $249.

In 2009 Walmart and Amazon had several small price wars that is expected to happen more often in 2010. In October you could get new holiday book releases for under $10 because of this battle for online sales domination.

Walmart is the only large retailer that has several real Black Friday deals that are only available in-stores on the actual Black Friday. In 2009 Walmart offered for instance a $198 Laptop and a $59 GPS.

Only for low-end electronics it makes sense to wait it out until Black Friday, but for video game consoles, hot toys and medium to high-end consumer electronics and computers it makes sense take a deal when you see it. Especially with hot toys you run into the risk that they are sold out getting close to Black Friday and the Holidays.

An important point to make is that lots of the special Black Friday deals including door buster deals are available already online on Thanksgiving Day at some retailers. Best Buy for instance made most of the Black Friday Doorbuster deals available online on Thanksgiving Day.
