Black Friday Sales in California's Central Valley: The Fresno Area

Kel
Take a look at some of the sale items and websites to find more "rumored" Black Friday sales. I'll admit, some years I've looked at Black Friday sales ads and stayed home, nothing worth my fighting crowds. However some years I've seen deals on the exact items I was wanting to give as gifts...at fantastic discounts. It's really helpful to find advanced sales ads...the stores don't like this but the ads are all over. Frankly, it helps shoppers plan a little...and with me, stay within the budget I'd planned for Christmas but get a little bit more for the same money. As a consumer, that makes me happy with the stores where I got deals.

On to the sales. One of the best sites online I have seen is www. blackfriday.gottadeal.com. As of this writing they had Kmart (thanksgiving day and Friday sales); KBtoys; Sears; Office Max; Harbor Freight; Ace Hardware; Fred's (although I don't think we have Freds in the Central Valley of California.)

A few deals - ut there are MANY more deals in all of the stores: Sears has a men's leather bomber jacket, listed online at $200 original, $100 sale, to be marked down to $49.99 on Black friday. They also have a 7"under cabinet LCD TV with clock radio, $99.99. Be an early customer, and Sears will give a $10 gift card to the first 200 customers.

Kmart is offering a 5 megapix digital camera for $69.99; a 20" flatscreen TV for $69.99.

KBToys is offering $20 in bonus cards if you spend $100.

Another site I like: www.blackfridayads.com

And yet another that is fairly well organized by product type: www.blackfriday.info.com

Expect stores to open earlier than normal, most retailers do on the day after Thanksgiving. Last year Walmart opened at 5 a.m. (has to be a GREAT deal for this night person to get up for that!). Expect other stores to be nearly as early.

Be organized...go where you really want that deal from first, or at least as soon as it opens. You have to be patient and a little brave in some areas (thankfully i've not experienced any nastiness in this area). Take your ads with you - - they are all in the paper on Thanksgiving day - and show an associate the ad to find the item quickly.

Have fun, get some great deals and good luck!

For anyone looking this year -- 2007-- please be aware that this article was written in 2006 for the 2006 Black Friday sales. My apologies that I did not put in the year. I'm trying to find the time to do another one this year so check back, but no guarantees. Happy shopping everyone!
