"Black Friday" Shoppers

For many the day after Thanksgiving signifies the beginning of their Christmas shopping tradition. Commonly referred to as "Black Friday" it is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Retailers count on this annual tradition to boost quarterly earnings and their annual profits.

Shopping on the day after Thanksgiving is a tradition that gets many in the Christmas spirit and they would not miss it for anything. "Shop till you drop" will be the motto of the day for many bargain hunters on this day of special sales.

It is a day of shopping frenzy overrun with chaos and large crowds of shoppers clamoring for special sales with the hope of stretching their Christmas budget a little further.

Many shoppers will arrive hours before the malls and shopping centers open. Some may even bring camping tents and spend the night outside of the stores to be first in line for special sales or for items of limited supply.

Many of these bargain hunters look forward all year to the big shopping tradition of after Thanksgiving sales. The hustle and bustle in the stores and malls creates an excitement in anticipation of Christmas. Since it is usually the first day that Santa arrives at the mall it is the perfect opportunity for the kids to tell Santa what they would like to have for Christmas.

Conversely there are others who absolutely refuse to step foot inside a mall or shopping center on the day after Thanksgiving. The very thought of the pushy crowds and frenzied attitude of other shoppers will keep many away.

The long lines at the checkout counters, screaming children, and packed parking lots are just too stressful.

They are willing to sacrifice the opportunity of bargains and special sale prices just to avoid the throng of shoppers who swarm the stores on this particular day. These conservative shoppers have most likely taken advantage of sale prices throughout the year purchasing items to set aside for Christmas giving.

There are some who enjoy taking a trip to the local mall or shopping center on the day after Thanksgiving just to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the other shoppers which may put them in the Christmas spirit.

If you are an early Christmas shopper you can be assured that there will be large crowds in malls and shopping centers on the day after Thanksgiving.
