Black Friday Shopping in Columbus, Ohio - the Thrifty Mom Way

Black Friday in Columbus
Neighborhood: Columbus
Columbus, OH 43215

Black Friday has been a longstanding tradition in Ohio. Shop till you drop the day after Thanksgiving seems to be just as much of the holiday as turkey and canned cranberry sauce.

Columbus has a lot to offer when it comes to holiday shopping, but be careful not to go all out or else you will blow your holiday budget in one day. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of the deal, but it can lead to the purchase of one to many 10 cup coffee pots at Wal-Mart for $3.98 then you will ever be able to give away.

I highly recommend that everyone take advantage of this day of sales, but please do a little pre-planning before you are off hitting the streets this holiday season. Carefully think about who you are buying for, write it down, and assign a budget to each individual. Look at that budget and go to the bank, ATM, your mattress and take this amount out in cash. This will prevent the urge to overspend, because when you run out of cash, you are done!

So where will thrifty mom be the day after Thanksgiving? I will be taking a quick trip down to Jeffersonville Ohio to hit the Jeffersonville Prime Outlet Mall located at 8000 Factory Shops Blvd in Jeffersonville , Ohio 43128. I will be at the outlet mall promptly at 12 midnight for their midnight madness sale. They will be giving away 2000 gift bags, ten with $50 gift cards and one with a $500 gift card. I can't resist the chance to win free holiday spending money.

The Jeffersonville Prime Outlet Mall is about an hour away from Columbus, but it features great outlet shopping that a thrifty mom can't resist. there are great stores such as the Gap factory Store, The Kate Spade Outlet, and a Pottery Barn Outlet. You can find incredible values at amazing prices. Just make sure you stick to your budget.

My next stop will be Wal-Mart. they open their doors at 5am of Black Friday. They are advertising some great deals, but it is a first come first serve situation. Once they run out they will not be offering rain checks. I know I am personally stocking up on High School Musical DVD Board games for $10. This is a great present for the tweens on your list. They have a two pack of Transformers that I will be getting for $10 for each of the little boys on my list. I am also going to grab a few three piece towel sets by Springmaid. They are selling them again for $10. I love the $10 theme because often time that is all one has to budget for Christmas presents for non-immediate family members.

Once the clock hits 6 a.m. it is off to Targets two-day sale. What can I say I love the little shopping cart guy. Seriously though, I am rounding out my holiday shopping here with some great deals. The only problem, they seem to be keeping them top secret. We will have to wait until the Two-Day sale circular comes out on Thursday before knowing what to buy. I know it will be truly worth the wait.

The next part of Black Friday is my favorite. It is 7am and all my Christmas shopping is done! I am back to bed to dream about the amazing deals I got!

Happy shopping!

I guess I was saved by being broke on Black Friday! ;o) I need a set of those horse blinders to wear when I walk around among these 'On Sale!' signs.

I love gift cards. Mostly I don't like what I do get for Christmas.

I go nowhere near stores on this day..Women are too mean. Give me a thug in a back alley any day and I can contend. Give me a bargain happy homemaker and I will run like the wind every time. I'm a woman but these places scare me.
