Black Friday Shopping Deals in New York City

Christmas Shopping 2007!

Mike Street
New York City might be the fashion capital of the world but it is also home to some of the best Black Friday deals around. Shopping on Black Friday is often fun and exciting, Now if you've never shopped during Black Friday then you should know that most stores discount their items some 20-50% off in hopes of getting huge sales. Most stores make massive amounts of money during Black Friday and also during the whole holiday season. Black Friday discounts and deals are highly sought after and you need to get up at 4a.m. or earlier to take advantage. If not for Black Friday shoppers most stores would be out of business. So here is my list of the best Black Friday deals in New York City.

1. J&R Music World DVD Sale

At this time every year J&R Music World, a technology and media chain, has a huge DVD discount sale. There is one located in the lower Manhattan/Wall street area and they are going to have a huge DVD/Blu-Ray sale. Now I don't know any family that doesn't have a media junkie living in their home. That guy or gal that loves to go the store and get the latest DVD movie. Or they have tones of box sets and they love watching full seasons of reality TV show. Then this Black Friday deal will help you get them the perfect gift. And what's even better is that you can visit www.jr.com now and start shopping their Black Friday deals. The DVD's will be shipped out on the day after Thanksgiving. So you'll get them well before Christmas.

2. Best Buy

Best Buy is everyone's favorite technology store. From video games to gadgets you can find just about anything to satisfy your need for technology. This Black Friday best buy will offer up 216 different items for sale. From DVD box sets, to DVD player, to the 16GB iPod Touch, you will be able to do almost all of your shopping here. The huge deal Best Buy is going to have is a 30GB Hard Drive Camcorder on sale for $329 and a killer Sony laptop for $400 with $120GB of memory and tons of extras. Best Buy is going to be packed on Black Friday so get their early.

You can visit Best Buy in NYC at these locations:

529 5th Ave
Take the B or D train to 42nd st and walk back to 5th ave. Then walk over to 44th street.

60 W 23RD St
Take the F train to 23rd st and it's one block over.

Best Buy Midtown

3. Target

Target is everyone's favorite store where they can buy just about anything. And of course Target is going to have a big Black Friday sale. Target is going to be the best place to buy toys for the kids. But unfortunately there are only a few Targets in the NYC area. 139 Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn and 40 W 225th St in the Bronx are the only close locations of Targets in the NYC area. You can take the 1 train to 225th St in the Bronx to get to Target location. Or you can take the 2/3 train into Brooklyn and get off at Flatbush Ave in downtown Brooklyn to go to that Target location.

The hot toy item to get from Target is the 3-pk Hannah Montana & Friends dolls. All the teen girls love the Disney show Hannah Montana. The tickets for her tour sold out in seconds. So if you couldn't get tickets for the tour then you can bring home some Hannah Montana fun for your kids this Christmas.

4. Toys R Us

Toys R Us is the ultimate spot for toy shopping in the NYC area. Once they moved into their Time Square location all other toy stores had to take notice. Now Toys R Us is going to have a super special deal on a Microsoft Zune. From 5am until 12 noon, the 30 GB Zune will be $80. If you have a music and video fan who is in need of a new mp3 player then get to Toys R Us early. Don't expect any of these to be there past 7am. This price is only for the Brown Zune.

Toys R Us is located in the heart of midtown on Broadway and 44th st.

You need to be there at 5am if you want to get any good deal. 7am is to late and the good stuff will be gone.

OMG, I've just noticed that stores will open earlier than last year in Black Friday! Have you watched this news which show the stores' schedule for Black Friday? http://www.weshow.com/us/p/24241/earlier_black_friday Very useful... They also say
that 25% American will spend even more than last year in Black Friday. I'll certainly do! I can't wait to this day.
