You've Come a Long Way Baby
of the darkness of slavery,
The African American
as we now know him,
came to be.
From out of a past
fettered by chains,
placed upon them
by the white man's claims
that Black Americans
Today they're proved wrong
The evidence is plain
Racial Prejudice
It's Just Insane
Given no choice
Denied all rights,
some people stood up
and said come
on lets fight
Rights don't belong
just to the whites
Let All God's children
come into the light
Decades have now passed
progress has come along
Atlanta school children
can sing a new song
