Black History Celebration

Black History Month is a special month set aside for black pioneers who paved the way for us to enjoy the freedoms many of them never got to enjoy. Many of them went through jail, beatings, persecution, murder, hate, you name it. People like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Malcolm X took a stand to obtain the rights given to us as people in the constitution. So many today would not take that stand. Many gave their lives just for the black to stand proud and appreciate where we came from and to tell the world we are somebody! I think that one day in February should be set aside where the president comes on live television, standing the same place MLK gave his I have a dream speech and give thanks to our hero's. This should be an annual event honoring the living hero's and the dead. This would be a huge honor and show future generations how important black history is.Yes we have a month to honor our people but I believe this will touch civil rights activists and the people of the world will know that this country had gone to the next phase of unity.
