Black Panther Leader Calls Talk Show Host a "Ho"

Joseph Speranzella
The internet, talk radio and cable news are still abuzz about the cultural conflict brought out with the Don Imus comments and firing. More opinions are coming out about the double standards of our culture and what is and is not allowed. I watched my friend Michelle Malkin sit in on the O'Reilly Factor the other night I was not expecting more evidence of the double standard of racial prejudice we have seen in recent days. O'Reilly was in Ireland receiving an honor from a philosophical society there and Michelle was hosting the program last Thursday.

There were two segments that make the point in different ways. Michelle was reporting on the Don Imus fiasco when she interviewed talk-show host Opio Sokoni. While acknowledging the role rap and hip-hop music played in the thinking that Imus' joke used common vernacular, he quickly turn to blaming the white man, even naming George Washington in the conspiracy.

Later she interviewed The New Black Panther leader Malik Shabazz regarding the charges being dropped in the Duke Lacrosse Team rape case. Fox News neatly provided video of Shabazz practically hanging the players in the court of public opinion. When asked if he would apologized, Shabazz was adamant that he would not and that District Attorney Nifong, a powerful WHITE college, and rich WHITE people were somehow at fault. He cites a ridiculous number of black rapes that no white man has ever been convicted of ( since the time of slavery even!) . Then he proceeds to call Michelle a "political prostitute". She cleverly had him clarify that he was calling her a "whore". He affirmed that he did.

According to one of Michelle Malkin's commentors on her site, HotAir.com, Shabazz is not very well informed:

"2005 US Dept of Justice Crime Statistics Report (published Dec 2006)
Just a couple experts to correct some of Shabazz's LIES.
Race of Offender - Rape/Sexual Assault
32.8% - White
48.5% - Black
15.4% - Other
3.2% - Unknown (offender not caught or ID'd)
73% of Violent Crimes against a Black are caused by a Black Offender
80% of Robberies against a Black are caused by a Black Offender
72% of Assaults against a Black are caused by a Black Offender
So more Rape/Sexual Assault Offenders are Black, and most Black crime is a result of Black Offenders.

Of course this is all just George Washington's fault, all the rich white guys faults, anyone but the Black communities fault. Certainly not Jesse Jackson, Al Sharp ton, or Shabazzes faults!"

Why is this kind of racism any different than Imus'? Is it because Shabazz is on a political show that he can call the host a political "ho" and not get called on it? And when will the white man be emancipated from the reverse racism surrounding the bad history of slavery ?

Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson , and Cynthia McKinney have been recent major players in the race card game recently. It is sad that every hardship a black man faces now is still somehow related to slavery or pre-civil rights segregation. It is also sad that a recent poll of black Americans found that most people cited their family members as more important "black leaders" than Sharpton and Jackson.

Most of this obviously comes from one's upbringing . People who grow up with bigotry in their families have had to consciously reject and refuse to pass on to to their own children. The people fueling Shabazz and Sokoni and others are blind to the double standard of black racism and are simply passing on hand me down values that no longer apply.

dO NOT ATTACH EVERY BLACK PERSON TO THE FEW THAT ARE DUMB AND UNEDUCATED. Since Obama got into office, there has been alot of talk about race. BLACK people need to take a look inside theirselves and see how to improve their own lives and stop blaming whites. I am a black man and if my life is hell I only have myself to blame. I USED TO LOVE hip hop until it bacame a thug world with no real lyrics or a thought process. So the hell with the NAACP and this so called new black panther party. Until those groups tell black men to raise thier children, stay in school, stay off dope and pull their damn pants up...then they don't exist to me. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!

I would leave my wife in a heartbeat for Michelle, except that we'd never argue (I wouldn't win anyway)about politics, as I'm on her exact wavelength. The sad thing with all of this racial divide is that black kids are brainwashed from the time they can understand things. They produce one generation after the other that is dependent on guilty white Libs/Dems to direct their lives. The "blame Whitey" crutch they used years ago should have been abandoned by now. All of the crap coming out of the black community, particularly with Sharpton, Jackson, and the other gang of usual suspects, is just a smokescreen to mask their societal problems. Bill Cosby took a beating from "real" blacks (he isn't a real black, but a sell-out, according to them) when he berated them for being irresponsible, uneducated, and engaging in thuggery.

I am going to agree with Lorraine. Shabazz and Sharpton represent an extreme view of some Americans views. What Imus did was wrong and the Rutger's women's BB team had the right to ask for his resignation, but why attempt to represent the African American race from a few extreme views? I don't see how that is "fair or balanced reporting".

My goodness, i thought Shabazz disappeared a long time ago! Why did Fox news have to go dig him up. Out of all the black scholars and community leaders they had to go find that nut case
