This really flirty and really fun black and pink striped votive holder project is perfect for a first apartment or sassy feminine themed space. Or, consider using these votive holders as part of a party centerpiece.

For this project, you will need (per votive holder):

- One clear glass votive holder
- Mild dish detergent
- Water
- Paper towels
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Satin Ballet Slipper
- Krylon Brights Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in Bright Pink
- Krylon Short Cuts Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in Gloss Black
- Ruler
- Pencil
- White, black, or pink colored votive candle
- Newspaper and/or a large drop cloth

To keep your crafting area tidy during and after this votive holder project, it is best to first cover the space with a few sheets of newspaper and/or a large drop cloth prior to starting. Carefully wash the clear glass votive holder with a mild dish detergent. Rinse the votive holder well with water. Dry the outside of the glass with paper towels and turn it upside down to dry for a couple hours.

Prime the bottom and the outside of the votive holder using Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Let the votive holder set for about an hour to dry. Paint the votive holder with three or four thick coats of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Satin Ballet Slipper. Keep adding paint coats until you reach a pink shade of your liking. Dry for a couple hours or until the paint is no longer tacky to touch.

Use a ruler and a pencil to create stripes on the votive holder that are a half inch apart. Use a Krylon Brights Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in Bright Pink to trace over every other pencil stripe. Paint the remaining stripes using a Krylon Short Cuts Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in Gloss Black. Wait thirty minutes before applying a second layer of paint to both colors of stripe.

Let the votive holder dry overnight. Insert a white, black, or pink colored votive candle in the holder and enjoy.

TIP: To use this black and pink striped votive holder as part of party decor, arrange three or more on a table together. You can also forgo the candle and use the votive holder to hold plastic forks, plastic knives, and plastic spoons. Or, create matching vases and apothecary jars to hold candies and other tasty treats.
