Black Sultry Eyes with American Beauty Double Lush Mascara Plus Primer

Superstar Eyelashes

I had a $10 gift card from Kohls department store, so figured I would buy something with it. After walking around the whole store, I ended back at the beauty counter. Here I found a counter of American Beauty products. I had never heard of them before.

I picked up a long thin box that contained the American Beauty Double Lush Mascara Plus Primer. I opened the end of the box, and pulled out a mascara that had 2 wands. I opened up each one to see the white primer, and the dark black mascara. The price was $12.50, so I purchased it for $2.50.

I already had my eye makeup on that day, so the following day I opened the box, and removed the mascara. The outside casing is flat, unlike most mascaras. It has a metallic silver in the middle, and white at both ends. It has the name 'American Beauty' on the left, and 'Double Lush Mascara Plus Primer' on the right. When you turn it to the back it has the name and distribution details.

The net weight is .12 ounce (3.8 g). There are 3 colors, Lush Black, Lush Brown, and Lush Midnight. I chose the Lush Black number 01.

I opened the left side, which is the primer, and it has a spiral brush with a narrow end. The primer is white, and looks thick. I applied this just to my right eyelashes, both upper, and lower. As there are no instructions with it I then opened the left side, and used the black mascara. The wand has a thick middle, and narrow at each end of the brush.

I applied the mascara, and was blown away at the length of my lashes. They also looked a really dark black. I used my Estee Lauder black mascara on my left eyelashes, and there was no comparison.

I let the mascara dry, and then carefully looked in the mirror. My American Beauty lashes had slightly clumped, but I was able to separate them just by lifting them with my little finger nail. They looked in between the length of regular lashes, and false lashes.

That night I used my Estee Lauder gentle eye makeup remover, and the mascara came off.

What American Beauty say about their product:

"A dual-wanded mascara primes lashes, giving lift, length and conditioning benefits then colors lashes giving intensity and volume for the most luxurious, luscious lashes possible.
Color wand expands lashes to full volume, giving color and building lash dimension
Ophthalmologist tested."

This mascara now take preference, over all my other mascaras, for when I go dancing, to parties, and weddings. I wouldn't use it as my everyday one, as I don't work in an office, or meet the public. I am happy with an average mascara around the house, swimming, etc.

I will be checking back at Kohl's department store to see the other beauty products that they have in their range.

I don't use mascara, I never seem to be able to perfect it. Plus, I always get smudges...:(

I use a double wand mascara and like it a lot. We have a Kohl's here, so will look into this line of products. Thanks for the info.
