Black Tip French Manicures a Trend Before the Golden Globes

During the pre-Golden Globes event Jennifer Love Hewitt wore black tipped fingernails instead of the highly popular white/opaque french tip nails. The question after seeing Hewitt's nails were "if anyone liked the style?" Regardless of personal opinions; black tips, designs and different color french tip nails have been popular for quite some time now. Not only are these styles applied in salons and spas but are available right off the rack in your local drug stores such as CVS and Wal-Greens and multi retail stores such as Target, Walmart and Kmart. There are several different brands of artificial nails but most have been following the french manicure trend with multi-colored french and color inspired designs.

Black Tipped Nails

Although Jennifer Love Hewitt wore black tipped nails for a large event that doesn't mean you have to wait for a special party or function to wear the same style nails. You can wear a stylish set with your favorite outfits for everyday activities. Since these are not painted there's little chance of the black tips chipping and the tip wear is minimal unlike regularly painted or sprayed tips. This also means you won't have to worry about touch ups when your out and about. The glue-on sets can last for nearly two weeks which is about the same length of time acrylics last before needing a fill-in.

Designs

If you prefer something softer than black tips there is a considerable amount of styles with designs. Designs range from floral, plaid, wave and mixed patterns in a several lengths. Designed tips should be bought in the length you prefer because cutting them down will lose some of the design. Solids such as silver, pink and silver lined black tips are other alternatives for fun looks.

Nail Art

Dark tips are not for everyone and if you prefer to wear french tips you can use nail art to add flair to your fake nails. There is a myriad of 3D style stickers that can be applied to your nails to create your own nail design. There are also nail paints and stencils provided by different brands to satisfy your artistic side. Though you may not care for any of the art work there is a french tip pen available for touch ups if you've cut the nails down or need re-freshing. Even if you choose to wear french tips the entire nail can be painted in your favorite nail polish color instead of being worn as it is.
