1. Exfoliate:
Use a mild exfoliator that is combined with a low potency benzoyl peroxide. The exfoliate will clear away any dead skin and expose the blackhead whilst the low potency benzoyl peroxide will help to break up and clear the blackhead from the skin. Unfortunately a lot of people tend to over use benzoyl peroxide or do not dilute it enough (therefore it is too strong). People also have a tendency to over scrub when exfoliating. It is important that you use the exfoliate and low potency benzoyl peroxide every 3 days or so. As long as you use low potency benzoyl peroxide it is one of the better options available for alleviating the effects of blackheads.
2. Pore Strips:
These are advertised everywhere and it glues to the blackhead and then you pull it away and "hey presto" no more blackheads. Using this method is fair at best for removing blackheads but a better method is Clinical Aethetician which will not cause too much damage to your skin.
It is important that if you do use pore strips that you do not over use them or they will cause aggravation to your skin which could in turn cause more blackheads to appear. This is one of the paradoxes of acne care- often the treatment strips the skin, it produces oil to compensate and then more breakouts occur.
3.Blackhead Dissolver:
This dissolves the blackheads in about 3 weeks and it made from natural plant extracts. It contains plant extracts which reduce the excessive cellular production and helps to keep follicles open. Some of the plant extracts contained in this product are also used in the treatment of eczema, dandruff and other conditions of excessive cellular proliferation. There are extracts contained within Skintactix which help to soften and break down the lipids (dry sebum oil that forms the plugs (blackheads) and other extracts in it which help to regulate the production of dihydrotestosterone which stimulates the production of sebum in our bodies.
However, whenever you use a blackhead treatment such as Blackhead Dissolver it is important that you skin does not become dry or dehydrated for long periods of time and this will give time for the plugs to harden again . That is counter-productive to the treatment. Therefore those people who suffer from dry skin and use such a product as this should moisturize their skin to prevent it from becoming drier. It is best to use a non-clogging moisturizer to avoid any allergic reactions or skin problems.
