Blackjack Rules the Casinos

Get into the Latest Gaming Craze

The Game Show Network (a digital cable channel that only a small percentage of the population receives) and even network television (in the form of CBS) have both jumped on the Blackjack bandwagon by bringing televised coverage of Blackjack tournaments. GSN's televised coverage of the World Series of Blackjack was followed quickly by the World Blackjack Tour. The network has recently celebrated a second season of Celebrity Blackjack, as well. And CBS has been airing its Ultimate Blackjack Tour for weeks now.

Even well-known Texas Hold 'Em poker players are involved. Most professional gamblers, in fact, do not limit themselves to one game alone, so it follows that many faces familiar at poker tables would be seen at games of 21 as well. Because professional Texas Hold 'Em players are enjoying a taste of being minor celebrities (doing endorsements, being asked for autographs) right now, their faces are being spotted by television watchers.

Which means that any gambling involving these celebrities is sure to be a ratings-grabber in the eyes of networks, and now that poker season is all but over (the World Series of Poker has already been waged and won) it's Blackjack that will delight fans in the off season. Commercials endorsing new Blackjack web sites (and old poker web sites that have added a new Blackjack feature) are now filling our TV screens. The latest craze in gambling isn't Texas Hold 'Em, it's Blackjack.

By this time next year, many more networks will be showing televised coverage of Blackjack tournaments. Celebrity tables will fill, and poker pros will again smile for the cameras. Network and cable television have already begun following these goings-on, and in time other channels will follow suit. Aren't we lucky?

For many people, it's even easier to follow Blackjack action than Texas Hold 'Em games, which involve calculating percentages and out-foxing opponents. In even tournament Blackjack, all you have to do is count to 21. Some professional gamblers make their living exclusively through playing Blackjack, which often whets the imagination of would-be pro gamblers who'd like to follow suit. Thanks to the latest trend in gambling, which is televised and online Blackjack, anyone can be a part of the action.

Watching Blackjack is a great way to learn basic Blackjack strategies. After all, the best way to master a skill is to study the professionals - and professional gamblers are masters of their craft. Even if you aren't considering a future of dabbling at the gaming tables (whether online or at the local casino), watch tournament Blackjack is often entertaining.

Which is why we're going to see more of it, in the future.
