Blake Shelton Finally Wins Not Once but Twice; Miranda Lambert Wins Three at 2010 CMA's

Plus, Country Music Pays Tribute to Loretta Lynn

The most emotional win of the 44th Annual CMA Awards that aired Wednesday night from Nashville came when Blake Shelton was announced Male Vocalist of the Year. He also won an award for Musical Event of the Year for 'Hillbilly Bone,' his duet with Trace Adkins.

A Stunned Blake Shelton Takes to the Stage, Leaves Viewers and Reba Teary-eyed:

Stunned when his name was announced, Shelton took fiancée Miranda Lambert in his arms then, on his way to the stage, embraced fellow Oklahoman Reba McEntire before stomping his way to the stage where he claimed his trophy.

"That's about 34 years worth of steps right there for me, so it would take me forever to thank everyone," Shelton said. "It's a really big deal for me. This is unbelievable."

There was barely a dry eye in the house as Shelton accepted his award. Reba McEntire, whose husband manages Shelton, was thrilled for him.

Prior to the telecast, when the musical event category was announced, Shelton said, "Yeah! That's how I like to start the night right there. I can relax and get drunk now!"

Shelton added, "If Trace were here - and he's not - I'm sure he would have said something like, 'You better be glad we won this, or I would have whipped somebody's ass."

His award for Male Vocalist of the Year is the first for Shelton whose career spans almost 20 years - his first single 'Austin' was released in 2001.

Miranda Lambert Takes Home Three Trophy's:

On the other side of the coin is Miranda Lambert, a native of Texas, who took home three trophy's for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Revolution, and Music Video of the Year making she and Shelton the country music powerhouse couple at this year's CMA's.

Lambert said of her album, "Revolution has truly caused a revolution in my life this year, thanks to the country music industry."

"I don't know what's going on. I just told Blake, 'I think we need to go to church,'" Lambert said as she stood next to country music legend Loretta Lynn.

Nashville Pays Tribute to Loretta Lynn:

Sissy Spaceck, the actress who portrayed Loretta Lynn in the 1980 movie 'Coal Miner's Daughter' graced the stage to celebrate the Country Music Hall of Fame member who celebrates 50 years of making music.

"Loretta didn't need any actress to turn her into a great character. She was born one."

Lambert and Sheryl Crow honored the legend by singing 'Coal Miner's Daughter.' Lynn, 75, was applauded when she walked out on stage to join the two.

No one does an award's show quite like the country music industry. This was one of the best I've watched over the years.

@Tony - It was a long time coming, that's for sure. I think it's just the beginning for both of them

Sounds like a great awards ceremony this year. I feel happy for Blake and his wife. It's time he got rewarded like this.
