I refused to take the greyhound because I had a bad experience on my entire round trip with that while I was pregnant with my son. So I went and got a payday loan and a title loan on my car. My car was not trustworthy to take to Florida. It needed a tune up badly so I didn't want to chance it. I thought I was doing the right thing by getting a rental to drive down to Florida.
I headed out with my son and my ex after we got the rental. By the time we did all that running around and got gas we didn't get on the interstate until about 5pm. We had to make more frequent stops since my son was so young to do diaper chances and feedings. He was not making it easy for me either he fussed most of the way there because he had to sit in that car seat for so long. I thought parenting would be easier than this. Especially taking road trips. Usually my son falls asleep on a 20 minute trip. Oh but not this time around.
We didn't make it to the trial on time because my ex took a wrong turn in Jacksonville. I was so upset. I didn't make it to court until 4pm and the hearing time was at 10am. Parking was horrible. You would think with it being so late most of the cars would be gone. I finally got in past security and all the metal detectors. I asked for a re-trial which I never received.
I had two options after this. That was to turn back around and head back to Virginia right away or stay overnight. Since I have a relative in Florida I choose to stay overnight. I didn't want to take that long trip back right away. We had already been through enough as it was.
When we finally decided to head back my son was able to sleep well at first because we started out early in the morning. However when we got to the Georgia border he was not too happy. After we fed him and gave him a fresh diaper change it was back to the road. When we started driving the son got in his eyes. It made him mad at first but he did the cutest little thing. He took his baby blanket and covered his eyes with it. Since my ex was driving I was able to snap a picture of it. Oh the joys of motherhood. This is a Kodak moment that you have to see.
