Blessed or Deceived? Christian Nation, Allows "freedom of Religion, Within the Rules

Marlyn Lopes
I was hoping, by writing this, to raise our conscientiousness, rather than controversy. This is especially directed at "Christians", and anyone living with scriptural knowledge. For this same reason, I will be quoting scriptures within this article, but not giving its place in the Bible. For those that read this, and don't know the scriptures well, this is a good time to practice searching out the scriptures to be sure all I say is true. For those with the knowledge of the Bible, you will soon see that what I say is indeed possible, if you haven't noticed it already.

Is the United States of America, declaring "In God We Trust", "God Bless America", and "One Nation Under God" truly blessed by God? Is it possible that these blessings could have come from a more sinister source that knows that gifts blind the eyes of the wise. Keep in mind, that since the birth of this nation, the people have always said this land was given to them by God. The Constitution, originating in Britain, was constructed after the Mosaic law. Also, to bring into remembrance, that the Constitution, many times, is considered our "God-given 'rights'"!

Now.....did not our God command that we have no other gods before Him because all the gods of the nations are idols? Yet, the United States, our Christian nation, allows "freedom of religion", which, of course, would allow Satanism, as long as it's practiced within the guidelines. Will God and Jesus allow this in the kingdom to come? God also commands us not to commit murder, and that whosoever hates his neighbor is a murderer. We're also taught that we should love our enemies. Is it not obvious that this country is plagued with hatred from the greatest to the least? Did we not wait in anticipation for the death of Saddam Hussein? Do we not continue to wait in anticipation for the capture, trial, and death of Osama Bin Laden? Of course, the trial being optional. Did not our God command us to not commit adultery, and that whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart? Even further, that whosoever shall divorce his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery because the wife is bound to her husband as long as he is living. If a woman divorces her husband, she should remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. That seems simple enough to understand without further explanation, yes? If necessary, let us examine the "taking the name of God in vain" phenomenon. Many believe that saying "Gosh darn" (you get the point) is breaking the fourth commandment, but this can be blamed on a lack of understanding. Although distasteful, and down-right proud, this term is more of a request than anything else. This one time, I will place the scripture, because I feel I must. 2Timothy 2:19 explains that those who "name the name of Christ", like Christians do, and yet does not "depart from iniquity" are those who take the name of the Lord in vain. It does not actually word it the way I've worded it outside of the quotation marks, but the understanding is clearly there.

Were we not warned to not use our freedom as an occasion to the flesh? It's clear that we've been deceived to believe the United States of America is "blessed" because of our abundance and prosperity, but only because we've forgotten that Satan, the deceiver of the whole world has the ability to give gifts, as he offered to Jesus also. I believe it was all the kingdoms of the world that Satan offered Jesus, yes? Satan is the god of this world, is he not? To repeat an earlier statement, wouldn't a deceiver continue giving gifts of abundance and prosperity to a person, especially if the person didn't know they were being deceived? Wouldn't that be the most opportune time to shower a person with gifts? Anyway, an apocryphal book called Ecclesiasticus wisely teaches that as the rulers are, so shall the people be also. It's only wise to conclude that if the rulers, or law-makers of the United States of Christian America allows these things to take place, the people will obviously follow the lead, or even use these freedoms as an occasion to the flesh.

I don't want to speak evil of our government and cause others to do the same because even Solomon teaches, in the Spirit of the Lord, that their are ways that seem right unto a man, but the ends thereof are the ways of death. This deception began when Eve was beguiled, and continues to this present day. Our government just happens to be the latest pawn in this game, being deceived along with the rest of us. Our government doesn't see these freedoms as paths to the ways of death, but truly believe they're right. Take heed. Blessed are they that do His commandments.
