Blessing

And fewer I would lay down life for

And it has recently occurred to me

To give my hopes for you eternal form

I wish you more love than I can express

With a mere pad of paper and pen

Although I have realized words are useless

I give it a valiant try now and then

May the sun always show you its glory

To rival you own triumphs and success

And on the days that are dark with worry

May the rain hid your tears-relieve your stress

May the mood forever hang just for you

May you know the joy of God and His love

Let the stars reveal their secrets to you

Yet never take for granted what's above

May you have the strength to follow your dreams

No matter the odds, stand for your beliefs

May nothing be as hard as it first seems

Have the courage to stand on your own feet

You know that to whatever you aspire

Be your goals easy or impossible

I will bend over back- work without tire

So you may achieve the improbable

If ever needed I am always here

No matter what the reason or the hour

I will stand between you and what you fear

Or 'side you depending on its power

And even when life gives you its lemons

May you realize the sweet nectar of life

Understand life is not always heaven

And joy itself is defined by strife

Now when you have grown and I have passed on

I hope I have left you with things to hold

May you cherish every mornings dawn

And your outlook on life, as mine, be bold

When you have chances to inspire your own

May your wishes for them be wind and free

And your love help them until they have grown
