Gameplay
Blockles is quite similar to Tetris in that you must organize falling blocks into some sort of order in order to remove blocks so as to avoid having them stack up to the top. The major difference is in how players clear blocks. In Tetris, the goal is to create a horizontal line of blocks in order to remove said line. In Blockles, the goal is to match colors up in order to remove the blocks. Players will need to match up four or more blocks of the same color to remove those blocks. If blocks stack up to the top, the player will lose the game.
The multiplayer component of Blockles includes the optional use of items. Items will appear randomly on blocks of various colors. To obtain an item, simply destroy the block that the item is on.
In general, blue items are useful to you, and orange items are harmful to you and harmful to other players. The following is a list of the items available what each one does:
-Additional blocks, which will increase the player's screen by a certain number of horizontal blocks, either two or four lines of horizontal gray blocks. Gray blocks can only be destroyed indirectly. In other words, you must destroy colored blocks around gray blocks in order to destroy gray blocks.
-Decrease blocks, which decreases the number of horizontal lines of blocks by a certain number, either two or four.
-Clear, which clears the screen of all blocks.
-Swap, which swaps your screen with the screen of another player of your choosing.
-Storm cloud, which turns a certain number of blocks into gray blocks that can only be destroyed indirectly by destroying colored blocks around them.
-Rainbow, which turns gray blocks into colored blocks.
-Flip, which flips the screen upside down, effectively switching the key controls. The effect is only temporary.
To use an item, simply press the number that corresponds to the screen of the player that you wish to use the item on.
Another game strategy involves making combos, which involves breaking more than one set of blocks at a time. Doing this will drop extra blocks on opponents. The higher the combo, the more blocks will drop on your opponents.
