Blond Brownies - a 3-Ingredient Family Favorite

Can Cooking Get Any Simpler Than This?

Linda Ann Nickerson
Got a bake sale at school? How about a potluck or holiday party? Perhaps company is coming, or you simply want to surprise your family with a home-baked treat.

Need to whip up a batch of brownies in a hurry? These blond brownies are ever-so-simple to make. With just three ingredients, you can prepare them in a snap. Watch them disappear just as fast!

Ingredients:

2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 small can sweetened evaporated milk
1 small package chocolate chips

(This recipe may be doubled for a larger pan.)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 (F).

Grease and flour a square (9" x 9") baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine all three ingredients. Stir well. Mixture will be quite thick, so a wooden spoon works best for blending.

Use a strong rubber scraper to pour mixture into prepared baking pan. Spray the bottom of a spatula with vegetable oil spray, and use it to flatten mixture evenly into pan.

Bake for 25 minutes. Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.

NOTE:

If you have no graham cracker crumbs, or if you cannot find them in the store, here's something you can easily do. Put one package of regular graham crackers (not the cinnamon variety) into a sturdy zippered plastic bag. Press the air out of the bag, and seal it tightly. Crush the crackers with a wooden rolling pin. Voila! You now have graham cracker crumbs!
