Blood Chills

Lisa Stanley

Waking in sweat the desire that feeds me

Within the midnight hours

Leaves me lonely at sunsets rise

Unfulfilled and dangling

The reality of the truth that lies

When daylight breaks from dawn

Aches my heart shredding it piece by piece

As the lingering blood chills my soul

Yes, the truth can be devastating, but don't let it destroy you because it can if you let it. This is another really great poem Lisa, well done!
